The new "Extreme Scream", by ORI Ind. of
Salem Oregon, has all implications of becoming the latest, hottest, and most exciting ride
on the scene that everyone has got to try. It literally doubles the thrill of
Sky Coaster, has double the capacity and will dominate the industry for a long time to
come.
The ORI plant in Salem Oregon is owned by Guy Sherbourne. Guy's
ride manufacturing experience comes from having served for 20 years as plant manager of
the Eyerly Aircraft Factory established in 1927. Eyerly engineered and mass produced
hundreds of classic amusement rides such as the Monster, the Spider, the Rock O Plane,
Loop O Plane and Sidewinder. Virtually all of these rides are still in operation today
thrilling thousands of Theme Park and Fairgoers worldwide. The new Extreme Scream poses no
exception to this tradition of reliability.
The new "Extreme Scream" by ORI has been called the
"..entertainment thrill ride of tomorrow". The original concept was to create
the ultimate thrill. Our new ride is 165' high, It is very fast at speeds of up to 70 MPH,
it is 360º of rotating motion plus 360º of secondary revolving motion. The 'G' forces
are approximately 4.5 Gs at the bottom and 2.8 Gs at the top.
The prototype built by engineers from Silicon Valley was first
booked by Entertainment Developers at the 97' Florida State Fair. The performance was
impressive, having grossed over $ 50,000.00 with the up-charge price to ride at $ 20.00
per person.
The structural engineering on the new improved Extreme
Scream has been done by Vincent Kevin Kelly Assoc, Santa Monica CA, one of the foremost
ride engineers in the world. The engineering is basically a 4X zoom enlargement of the 40'
"Sidewinder". Kevin Kelly maintains stamps in 26 states, and did all the
preliminary structural calcs on the original "Sidewinder" in the 1970s see
photos from the ORI brochure attached. Engineering upgrades also include multiple safety
enhancements, re-design of the hub configuration, a 110 MPH wind loading factor, and
carrier modifications doubling the capacity to 8 per cycle.
The purchase price of the portable Extreme Scream is $
470,000.00 which includes installation, training, 2 year warranty on parts, 24 hour parts
hot line, and free upgrades for 2 years. A revenue share arrangement could also be
considered. Permanently installed units are also available with prices varying with
respect to location.
